Travel Update: Your Trips Now Show on the Calendar, With Color Coding
The Travel module just got a big upgrade: trips now appear as colored bands across your month and week views, so a planned trip is visible right where you plan the rest of your life.
A few months ago the Travel module got a place for your wishlist and active trips. The gap was that once you planned a trip, it still lived in its own corner — not next to the calendar where you actually plan your weeks. This week's update closes that gap: your trips now show up right on your month and week views, color-coded so you can tell them apart at a glance.
Trips on your calendar
When you add a trip with dates in the Travel module, it now appears as a band stretching across those days in both the month view and the week view. No extra step, no re-entering dates — plan the trip once, and it shows up where the rest of your planning lives.
This matters because a trip isn't a separate life. The week before you leave has packing and handoffs in it. The week you're away is a week you're not doing your usual routine. Seeing the trip sitting right there on the calendar means you plan around it honestly instead of being surprised by it.
Color coding for trips
Each trip can now be assigned a color from a calm, planner-friendly palette. It's a small thing, but when you have a couple of trips on the horizon — a work trip in one color, a long weekend away in another — the color makes them instantly distinguishable on the calendar. Pick the color when you create or edit a trip; it carries through to every view.
Smaller fixes that shipped this week
Alongside the travel work, a handful of quieter improvements landed:
- Weekdays stay visible while scrolling. The day headers in the week view now stay pinned as you scroll, so you never lose track of which column is which.
- Steadier header. Fixed a jump in the header and cleaned up how the active page is highlighted, so navigation feels calmer.
- Show more / less in daily and weekly notes. Focus and gratitude notes can now expand and collapse, keeping the page tidy when entries run long.
- Clearer daily indicators. Reversed the daily task indicators on the month and week views so they read the way you'd expect.
- Wellness template polish. Minor edits to the wellness template for a cleaner starting point.
What's next
The Travel module is becoming a real part of the planner rather than a side feature, and that's the direction I want to keep going: every life area you care about should be visible in the same calm system, not scattered across apps. If you use the travel features and have thoughts on what would make them more useful, send them to maryna@planami.app — I read everything.
